Music by The Piano Brothers

Douglas Walter Bailey, age 53, of Hines, Oregon, passed away suddenly in his sleep on October 25, 2015.  He leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Lori and two sons Brennan (21) and Logan (19).
Doug was born in Ontario, Oregon on September 9, 1962 to Walt and Janice (Jenkins) Bailey of Diamond, Oregon.  He was welcomed by older brother Brad and later they both welcomed brother Vade. Doug was raised in Diamond, Oregon where he attended school to the 8th grade.  There he had many mischievous adventures in the Diamond Valley with his good childhood friends who remained true friends throughout his life.  His mischievous adventures followed him to Crane High School where he graduated in 1981.
Doug loved the ranching life.  He enjoyed gathering cattle, branding and was the master fence builder of the family.  He was known to be an extreme perfectionist and when he decided to do a job, it was done to perfection.
Doug was employed by the Harney County Road Department for 24 years.  As true to his spirit, he was known to always have a good joke, but always did his job to perfection.  He eventually worked his way up to Foreman.
Doug married Lori on June 5, 1993 and made their home in Hines.  They welcomed both sons and built a good life together.  Doug and Lori traveled many miles attending wrestling meets, football and baseball games with their boys.  Watching his sons participate in sporting events was a source of pride and enjoyment for Doug.  He was especially proud to watch Brennan win a state championship in wrestling and Logan win MVP in baseball during their senior years of high school.
Doug was loved for his mischievous spirit, good jokes, zest for life and many, many, many humorous nicknames he gave others.  He was a tell-it-like-it-is person, who had a deep loyalty to his family and true friends.  He had a quick wit, sharp sense of humor and loved to play pranks.  He will be extremely missed during the family get-togethers, hunting trips and pitch games.
Doug leaves behind his wife Lori, sons Brennan and Logan, mother Janice, and brothers Brad and Vade.  He also leaves behind sister-in-law’s Roxane and Heather and nephews Zach, Zane and Luke.  Additionally, he leaves behind many aunts, cousins and good friend Don Davis.  Doug was preceded in death by his father Walt.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 7 at 4 pm at the Elks Lodge in Burns, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doug’s memory may be made to Burns High School Wrestling Program in care of La Follette’s Chapel, Burns, Oregon.

Lori, Brennan, and Logan, We send our thoughts and prayers to you and the entire family for this loss. Although we did not know Doug well, we know his heart will always be with all he knew (even if only an occasional "hi").

Doug was my friend. Even though I didn't see him often, or for very long at a time, I always knew he would have a smile for me. He looked out for me, to the point of helping me find a job when I didn't have one. I will miss him. May God grant his wife, sons, and family comfort and peace, and the knowledge that he will be always be with you.
