Albert Deiter was found dead on October 17, 2017 at his home in Burns.  A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at LaFollette's Chapel.

Albert was born on January 3, 1958 to Eugene and Elaine (Williams) Deiter.  He was raised in Burns, Oregon until his junior year when the family moved to Lovelock, Nevada where he graduated from high school in 1976. He joined the U.S. Navy becoming a (EN2) diesel mechanic.  Albert was married while serving his country and in November of 1981 he was Honorably Discharged after rescuing 52 American Hostages from Iran.

He returned home to Burns to raise two children, Joshua 1980 and Nicole 1982.  Albert became the manager at Leather’s Oil Company in Burns, then worked on the green chain at Snow Mt. Pine.  After his divorce, he had a son, Matthew 1988.  From there, he remarried and had three more children; Leah 1990, Kinzie 1995 and Coreena 1998.

Albert is proceeded in death by his mother Elaine Holmstrom, his father, Eugene Deiter, and the love of his life, Caryn Ellis.  He is survived by his six children; Joshua, Nicole, Matthew, Leah, Kenzie and Coreena.  His sister, Kelly & Ray Gregg of Redmond, Brothers, Danny & Lou Ann Deiter of Burns, Michael & Melissa Holmstrom of Kalispel, Montana, Joe Fox of LaGrande, Oregon Jason Tryon of LaGrande, Tracey & Tabitha Deiter of LaGrande and Sister, Rose Dawn & Calvin Quigley of Vancouver, Washington.  Several nieces and nephews and many friends.
