Suzanne Revak Obituary

Suzanne Marie Revak was born on the 25th of March, 1950, in Burns, to Don and Martha Pitkin, the oldest of nine children. She passed away on Dec. 20, 2023, in Fernley, Nev. She was 73 years old.

Suzanne spent her early years in Burns, having the usual childhood adventures, and moved with her family to Meridian, Idaho, for her freshman year at Bishop Kelly High School. She attended Boise State University, where she graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education & Secondary Education.

Always an active athlete, she played intramural softball, swimming and field hockey where she met some of her dearest lifelong friends. Suzanne also met her first husband, Harley Steven ‘Steve’ Fouts, while lifeguarding at BSU. They were married in 1974 and had two daughters, Kari and Kelley.

While in college, Suzanne started a lifelong membership with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and always cherished the sisters she found among that community. She maintained her connection to the sorority (or Bitty Fi Foo, as the family affectionately called it) for her entire life, joining the chapter in Fallon and recently celebrating her 50 year membership.

Suzanne found herself reunited with her childhood sweetheart and life love, Michael Frank ‘Mike’ Revak. They were joined in marriage in 1987, bringing together Suzanne’s girls with Mike’s daughters, Shawna and Stephanie, and eventually added a son, Adam, to their blended family. They made loving homes in Lacey, Wash., and Sandpoint, Idaho, and gained many good friends through the years, eventually settling in their chosen home of Fernley.

She held many jobs during her life, from working with youth at the Olympia Juvenile Detention Center in Lacey, to data entry at Valley Joist in Fernley before settling into working with her husband full-time in the family company, KASM Construction.  She was a devoted woman of God, having learned from the example of love and quiet faith of her Mom and Granny Kvekshas, and devoted much of her time to the Catholic Church. She wore many hats while working for St. Robert Bellarmine, from running funerals and receptions, teaching religion classes, to being on the count team and volunteering for many more roles.

Suzanne also worked tirelessly with the Boy Scouts of America for more than 15 years, sponsored Harvey, a youth from Costa Rica, and was guardian and caretaker for Carol Blaesor, an elder church member. Suzanne loved traveling, organizing camping, boating and family gatherings, waterskiing, gardening and biking. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

She had a calm and loving demeanor, a subtle streak of humor and a caring heart that was always ready and willing to listen. Suzanne leaves a legacy of kindness and compassion which will always be remembered and cherished.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ramona, who died of cancer as a child.

She is survived by her husband Mike; her children, Kari (Maya Wilde) Fouts of Portland, and family – Oliver; Kelley (Jeremy) Harding of Fernley, and family – Kedrick, Gavin, Jace and Jovie; Adam Revak of Fernley; her stepdaughters, Shawna (Steve Krum) Revak of Portland, and family – Nolan; Stephanie (Jake Mowdy) Revak of Portland, ; her bonus daughter, Dirian (Hernan) Reyes of Reno, and family – Mia, Liam and Mateo; her siblings, Deb (Mark) Klein of Boise; Steve Pitkin of Long Beach, Calif.; Chris Pitkin of Meridian, Idaho; Mary (Larry) Ossenkop of Boise; Jim (Kimberly) Pitkin of Middleton, Idaho; Liz Villarreal of Caldwell, Idaho; Mike Pitkin of Santa Monica, Calif.; and many much-loved nieces, nephews and extended family.
