Ronald Eugene Daniel

Ronald (Ron) Eugene Daniel age 82, passed away peacefully in his home in Hines Oregon, surrounded by his sons on the morning of August 2, 2023. Ron was born July 12, 1941 in Nampa, Idaho to John Gerald Daniel and Viola Mae Daniel. He had three siblings; John Richard, Sonny, and Carol Ann. The family moved to the Burns/Hines area shortly after Ron was born. Ron attended school in Burns and graduated from Burns High School in 1959. While in school, Ron enjoyed boxing, and playing football, basketball and baseball. He served in the National Guard and Army Reserve until 1966. He had three sons; Mike, Jeff and Darin Daniel. Ron worked at Edward Hines Lumber Company, Snow Mountain Pine, and retired from Monaco Motor Homes. Ron has always loved speed and adventure, whether it was boating, waterskiing, snowmobiling, or camping. Later in life, Ron enjoyed riding around in the hills on his 4-wheeler with one of his yellow/golden labs by his side. Of all his activities, Ron loved hunting the most. While he enjoyed his travels to Canada and Alaska to kill big game, he was truly happiest with his three sons and great friends at “Hunting Camp”. His trophy room reflects his hunting abilities as it is filled with Moose, Caribou, Elk, Deer, Cougar, and Bear. Ron was always on the go, eager to help out a friend, or just tinkering around his property. 

Ron is proceeded in death by his parents, John and Vi Daniel, siblings, Richard, Sonny and Carol Ann. He is survived by his three sons; Mike (Polly) Daniel, Jeff (Christi) Daniel, and Darin Daniel.  His five grandchildren; Jessica (Bridger) Sacher, Alyssa (Sam) Keeran, Lukas (Karry) Daniel, Joey Daniel, and Jesse.  His five great-grandchildren, Lane Sacher, Presley Sacher, Carsyn Keeran, Emmy Daniel and Porter Daniel.  As well as his best friend and companion for 30+ years; Mary Jo Elshelby. Her family became his. Randi Jo (Chris) Korell and their children, Sydnee Korell Nicholson and Lafe Korell.
