David Arth Austin Bullock was born August 14, 1938 in Hardy, Arkansas. He passed away at his home in Crane, OR on July 8, 2022 with his wife Phyllis by his side.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Pierce) Bullock; son Jurgen Bullock, his wife Michelle and their children Ryan and Tiffini; son Donald Bullock, his wife Cindy and their children Mandi and Alisha; daughter Elfriede Harig, her husband Don and their children David and Sara; daughter Rosie Bullock and her children Hiedi and Quinton; daughter Dina Shaefer, her husband George and their children Sasha and Clell; stepson Richard Furgerson, his wife Jill and their children Jonathan and Jacob, stepdaughter Deborah Quant and her child Mychael; stepdaughter Doris Schatz and her children Amber, Nickolas and Tanner. Along with several great-grandkids and great-great grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his sister Elva Gourley, sister Mildred Berestorm, brother Walt Bullock, brother Russell Bullock, and his first wife Gerhilde Bullock.
David “Austin” served in the Army from October 31, 1957 to October 9, 1961. While he was in the Army in Germany he met and married Gerhilde Hook on December 4, 1958. They made their home in Grant county and had five children. David worked in the Izee lumber mill, Bates lumber mill and John Day lumber mill where he retired from. On his time off he farmed and worked his cows and horses.
After Gerhilde passed away on April 22, 1996, David met and married Phyllis Pierce on December 15, 1997. They made their home in Crane, OR.
David was a loving father, uncle, grandpa and friend to so many. He loved working his cows, farming, camping, gardening and most of all, cutting wood with friends and family.
