August 6, 1933 ~ May 24, 2023 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Obituary

Darlene Dolores Wingfield (Heath) passed peacefully into Heaven May 24, 2023, in Burns, Oregon. Born to Royston “Doc” and Ellen (Beavers) Heath on August 6, 1933, in Bakersfield, CA. Darlene grew up on the Rosedale family farm. She was a hard-working farm girl, helping to raise cotton and alfalfa. In fact, at one time, she picked enough cotton to make a 500 pound bale, all by herself. She graduated from BHS in 1951. She married Herbert Wingfield on May 23, 1952.

She was a member, and leader, of Rosedale Grange 565, Girl Scouts, 4H, PTA, Guild Girls, Bloomer Girls, Pares & Spares, Glass & China Collectors, Burn’s beautification club AKA Pride Group, Lion’s, and American Legion. She won Queen for a Day in 1962. She was always doing for others, knitting prayer shawls, caps, and dishcloths. She sewed 70+ teddy bears as gifts. Through her church, she donated soda can tabs, used postage stamps, and over $1500, one “F” (Faith) dollar at a time, which provided water wells for people in Africa.

Predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Ray and Gary Heath, and Herbert Wingfield Sr. She is survived by her partner, Paul Hyland, children Diana Sherry, Sandra Wingfield, Suzanne (Gregory) Laskowski, and Herbert Wingfield Jr. (Tammy), and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
