Bonnie June Smith passed away peacefully on December 2nd at the age of 87. She was born June 2, 1934 in Burns, Oregon to Ethel May (Baker) and Peter Pedersen Elmose.
She attended school in Burns graduating from Burns High School. In 1952 she met and married Jack G. Smith at the home of her aunt in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Jack was in the Army and when he was discharged in 1957 they came home to help on the family ranch. A short time later Jack and Bonnie purchased some land of their own and started Anchor Cross Ranch on Cow Creek.
Bonnie went to work at US Bank and had a career that lasted more than 30 years. After retirement she worked full time on the ranch with Jack right up until her passing.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband Jack.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 16th at 1:00 p.m. at the Burns cemetery. Lafollettes Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
