Barbara Jean (Kutch) Norris

Barbara, 88, lost her three-year battle with Alzheimer/Dementia on Dec. 18, 2022, with her daughters by her side at Harney District Hospital in Burns.

Barbara was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Weston, Ore., (on the mountain) to Cecil and Lucille (Miller) Kutch. She was raised throughout Oregon. She married Roy W. Norris on Sept. 11, 1953. Barbara held numerous jobs in Hines/Burns: Telephone Company, Burns Clinic, Bookkeeper for Norris Logging and Kidwell Tire Store.

Barbara enjoyed reading, crocheting, cross stitch, quilting and tried her hand at many different crafts. In her early 80’s she had entered many of her projects in the local fair and was thrilled and proud that she received several ribbons. She was a self-taught tole painter and taught several classes. She loved spending time at the Harney County Hub, having lunch and visiting with friends, driving around Burns/Hines in her little red car was a favorite thing to do, most every day.  

Barbara was a devoted and loving mother and wife, of 59 years.  

Barbara is survived by her sons, Scott of Redmond, and Michael of Bend. Her daughters, Rebecca and husband, Mike Fulton of Hines, Mary and husband, Scott Sanseri of Burns. Her grandchildren, Jessie Norris, Tashell Erichsen and husband Paul, Sky Norris, Charlene Norris all of Washington, Amanda Camper of Dubai-United Arab Emirates and Justin Camper of Redmond. Her great-grandsons, Dillon and Jonny of Washington. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Norris; her parents, Cecil and Lucille Kutch; son, Douglas Cecil Norris; sister, Donna Kay Nicolaides; brother, Donald Ray Kutch; and numerous family members.

At her request, no services will be held. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Roy, her parents, her son, Douglas, her brother, Donald and his family in Coos Bay, Ore.
