Wendy Novak, 62 died on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Harney District Hospital after a battle with cancer. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.  Contributions in Wendy Novak's memory can be made to a Memorial Fund in her name at Sterling Saving Bank. Loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  Born to Ray and Delores Withee in Burns OR, Wendy grew up in a large family with a sister and three brothers.  She moved to Redmond, OR as a young woman and become involved in activities such as skeet shooting and softball.  She enjoyed hosting family and friends and loved homemaking.  Wendy married Bob Novak in 1988 and they soon started a family.  They joy of Wendy's life were her two children, Marc and Kelly.  Raising her children and making a home for her family were her greatest accomplishments.  Wendy, along with her husband Bob spent many hours supporting their children in their sports activities and hobbies.  Christmas was her favorite season and for her it started in October.  Christmas music, baking, decorating and giving were all reflections of her generous nature and her desire to be with family and friends.  She enjoyed time around her backyard pond with family and visitors and she was happy when it was either decorated with flowers or Christmas lights.  The smell of home baked bread often filled her home and she was always eager to host a family gathering. Wendy will be missed by those who knew and loved her.  She was so many things to so many people.  A dedicated wife, a caring Mom, a team mom, a fishing partner, gambling cohort, a canning buddy, a confidant, a caretaker, a friend to laugh with and a friend to cry with.  Most of all Wendy was the type of person who loved much and shared her kindness and generosity with those she loved and cared for.  Although her life was cut short, she has left her family and friends with wonderful memories. She is preceded in death by her father Ray Withee.  She leaves behind her husband, Robert Novak; son, Marc Novak; daughter, Kelly Novak; mother, Delores Withee; sister, Sandy Whitmore; brothers, Dan, Mike and Jim Withee; and many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
