Richard was born in Oroville, Calif., on July 17, 1949, to Jim and Mariam Mingus. His family eventually moved to Hines and he attended school, graduating from Burns Union High School in 1968.
From his first marriage, sons, Kelly and Rode were born. Rich lived many places before coming back to Burns, where he met the love of his life, Debbie, and they were married May 18, 1996. Into that union, Debbie brought three children, Jeremy, Hollie and Brett.
Rich worked at Tillers Market, the Edward Hines Lumber Co., Tecton, Snow Mtn. Pine, Monaco, Kings Trucking, and a few other places. He then worked for a company out of Atlanta, Ga., called Helicopter Express and was still working for them when he passed. He drove the fuel truck and fueled the helicopters for 13 years. He wanted to retire, but loved that job so he continued to work every summer.
On Rich's time-off from work, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved going to their sporting events.
Rich was proceeded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Jim; and stepbrother, Rick Kelly.
