Nadine Lissman was born on April 14, 1933 in Almena Kansas to Alva Earl Hines and Sylvia Verneitta Bell. She moved from Kansas to Gooding, Idaho where her family survived a rare Tornado that lifted their home from the foundation. Her dad ended up with a broken back after it picked him up. They lost their home but the rest of the family was safe. From Gooding, Idaho they moved to a farm between Ontario and Nyssa, where she attended high school in Ontario. She married Raymond Russell Lissman then moved several times before moving to Seneca for 14 years, where they had 6 children. They then moved to Canyon City, Oregon to let the 5 children attend high school without riding the bus 26 miles one way to school. When the logging declined it was on to Burns where the last child graduated from Burns. She worked for the Harney County Senior Citizen Center and then opened an Adult Foster Care Home to take care of her mother and then on to taking care of many other cherished people. Her family was the most important thing in her life.
She is survived by Raymond Russell Lissman; her children Nila McPhetridge Burns, Oregon; Dan Lissman Ontario, Oregon; Carolyn Gubser (Bill) Condon, Oregon; Darlene Needham (Jerry) Burns, Oregon; Sylvia Wilcox (Jerry) Vale, Oregon; three generations of grandchildren, and a large extended family.
