Beloved lunch lady, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother.  Lola Marlene Benton, 66, of Hines, OR, died of Alzhimers on October 4th, 2023.

She was born in Stayton in 1957 to William & Louise Mohr, who raised her and her eight siblings in Santiam Valley. She attended Detroit High, before studying accounting at the Western Business College.  At the State Capital she utilized her accounting education until she moved to Hines/Burns Oregon with her husband and 2 children, where she found her passion as a lunch lady and was loved by students, co-workers, and parents.  She thoroughly enjoyed watching the community's kids grow.  When she wasn't at work, she spent time with family and friends.  Game nights, puzzling, shopping, sewing, and crafting were some of her favorite pastimes.

Lola will always be remembered for her fun loving, caring nature and enjoyment in the small things.  We will miss Lola every day and her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Lola was preceded in death by her father William Mohr, mother Louise Mohr, brother Billie Johnson, sister Sandy (Kelly) Wilhite.  She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dennis Benton; her children son Matthew (Mary) Benton, daughter Jennifer (Jason) Dent; her siblings Anita (Frank) Yates, Jim Johnson, Sharon Barton, Mike(Kari) Mohr, Cindy (Steve) Higginbotham and Brian Mohr; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
