Joshua Nephi Kevin Johnson died surrounded by his family Sept. 20. He was born March 17, 1996, in Newberg to Irene "Nichole" and Kevin Johnson. He was welcomed by siblings Karsten, Kira, Brolin, Nicholette and Selene Johnson. Joshua grew strong and loved life. He smiled a lot and was mischievous at times. When he was 2, he had a four-day seizure that stripped him of a normal life. At age 3, Joshua and his family moved to Burns. He attended school at Fillmore and loved his classmates and teachers. Later, he attended Slater and then Hines Middle School. Finally, Joshua attended a few months at Burns High School before becoming too weak to attend. Joshua loved food, classical music and when his dad would sing to him at night. Red balloons would make him smile. He had unconditional love toward all of his many wonderful teachers, friends and family members. He loved to walk around the school and give everyone hugs. Joshua spent his final days at home with his family. He is survived by his mother, Nichole; father, Kevin; sisters, Nicholette, Selene and Kira; brothers, Karsten and Brolin; and his grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his cousins, Nicholas Johnson and Tyler Graham.
