Obituary

Joe Orrin Enneberg, 86, of Hines, passed away at Ashley Manor on January 11, 2015, six days shy of his 87th birthday.  He was born January 17, 1928, near Mist, Oregon to Carl and Orra (McGee) Enneberg.  He graduated from Vernonia High School and served in the United States Army Air Corps. In 1955 he married Betty "Micky" McDowell and in 1956 they moved to Harney County, where they have resided ever since. Until his retirement in 1982, Joe was the official in charge of the National Weather Service office located in Burns. After his retirement from the Weather Service, he also worked part-time for the State of Oregon as a brand inspector for several years. He is survived by his wife, Micky, of Hines; daughter Anita Hunt and her husband Russ Hunt of Summerville, Oregon; son Gil Enneberg and wife Debbie of Sisters, Oregon; grandsons Ross Kemp, Lane Kemp, Dereck Enneberg and Zach Enneberg; and one great-grandson, Max Kemp.  He is also survived by his brother, Lee Enneberg of Columbia City, Oregon. There will be no services at this time but a "Celebration of Life" will be held later in the year.  Contributions may be made to the local High Desert Fiddlers in memory of Joe Enneberg in care of LaFollette's Chapel, PO Box 488; Burns, Oregon 97720.
