Obituary

At the age of 95, Henry Conrad Vogler III passed away on March 3, 2015 at Harney District Hospital following a brief illness. Henry was born on September 24, 1919 in Connell, Washington to Henry C. Vogler Jr. and Pearl E. Gipson Vogler.  He and his sister, Helen  grew up and were educated in Connell.  He graduated from Washington State University in 1952 after serving in the US Army during World War II. Henry married Ruth O. Jordan on August 31, 1942.  On March 1, 1950, he moved the family to Burns, Oregon.  His life work was with and for his parents in ranching and farming in Connell, Washington, Echo, Oregon and the Island Ranch in Burns, Oregon. He was well-known  for his pranks, jokes and stories.  He enjoyed traveling, reading and playing cards.  He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #63, and the Burns Elks Lodge. Surviving are children Connie (Earl) Barber, Joyce (Hank) Dickerson, Pamela Harper, Janice Vogler, Henry Vogler IV and Bonnie (Woody Adams) Vogler as well as 16 grandchildren and  30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Helen Figg, wife Ruth and grandson H.C. Vogler V. At his request, no services will be held.
