IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Flint Eugene
Still
August 26, 1952 – May 29, 2024
Flint Eugene Still passed away in his home on May 29, 2024, at the age
of 71. He was born Aug. 26, 1952, in Lakeview to John Still and Faye
McKay. He lived at Willow Ranch and attended school in Alturas. Being
raised in a family with many aunts and uncles older and younger than
him, between Bly and Willow Ranch, was the run of the Hunter and Still kids.
He worked on several ranches throughout Lake County and Pine Creek. He
then started following the rodeo circuit with good ol Kenny Arnold. What
a time that was for the both of them. He then moved to Baker and worked
in the mill, which brought him to Burns to drive log truck for several
companies. In that time, he met the love of his life, Cheryl (Estep) and
married her a year later on Aug. 9, 1976.
He was known to help out anyone who need it, no matter the job. From
sharpening chainsaws to body work to mechanizing or just enjoying
visiting with friends and family. He then started working for the Harney
County Road Department where he medically retired from.
He enjoyed his grandkids throughout all their accomplishments and always
loved to hear "hey Peepaw, guess what" or " hey pops, you wanna know
something." All the tormenting he did to everyone of the kids that ever
came to the house. For some reason, they all kept coming back because
the old man was fun and ornery.
Flint is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of almost 48 years; son, Clint
Still (Naomi); daughter, LeeAnna Smith (Chris); three grandkids, his
pride and joys, Dylan Still of Lakeview, Devan Otley-Smith and Natalee
Otley-Smith of Hines; sister, Tracey Jones (Lee); a brother and two
half-brothers, Sterling and Paul Still; three brother-in-laws, Francis
Estep (Lillian), Ron Estep ( Dorene), and Gordon Estep (Linda); numerous
nieces, nephews, and amazing aunts and uncles that he was raised with
the "Hunter Clan."
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Faye McKay; father, John Still;
grandmother, Lura Hunter; father-in-law, Howard Estep; mother-in-law,
Shirley Estep; brother, Sterling Still; and many aunts and uncles.
There will not be services at his request. At the family's request, any
contributions, can be made to Cheryl Still, PO Box 832, Burns, Oregon,
97720, to help her through this tough time.
