Ernest Botefur passed away Nov. 29. He was born in Del Norte Colo., to Ernest and Jewell Botefur. He served two tours of duty with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II and the Korean War. He worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator. He loved to hunt and fly fish. Ernest is survived by his wife of 68 years, Peggy; sons, Ernest of Burns and David of Washington; daughter, Jewell Shreeve of Hines; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. At his request, there will be no service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
