So sorry to hear of Doug's passing.  We went to school and graduated together in 1976.  I lost track of Doug after he joined the Navy because I, too, moved away from Hines.  I joined the Navy much later (Dec 1983) and served 30 years.  I applaud Doug for serving his country when it was extremely unpopular (Vietnam was still on everyone's mind).  It's surreal seeing his obit because just last week I searched for him on Facebook to see if I could locate him.  I know the family must be feeling an enormous loss right now and I hope God brings the family some peace.  Doug was famous for streaking at the high school graduation (1975 I believe) back when streaking was popular!  He was always so brave and not afraid to do what others feared.  I hope he is at peace in the afterlife.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Doug's death. I used to go over to their house to visit Maxine. Doug was the cutest little red head that I had ever seen. I remember him as being a very happy little boy. He absolutely loved Maxine. We moved away from Hines in 1963 and haven't had much contact with the family. Maxine and your family are in my prayers. Please remember all of the fun times you had together.

My heart is in disbelief over Doug's death.  I have so many wonderful memories of him, mostly of use ice skating on a pond outside near where I lived.  RIP Doug....
