Dear Betty and Families,

We have lost a big, BIG man!  Although illness diminished his stature, the passion for his family, for children and horses remained.  He will be missed, but much remembered by all who knew him!

We are very sorry for your loss.  Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Please accept out deepest sympathy.  Donald was a wonderful man.  I will miss his smile and his hearty, "How are you?"  He always made me feel he really cared and wanted to know how I was.

His loss will be immensely felt by all who ever knew him.

I cannot tell you all what a pleasure it was watching and working with Don Opie.  My first memory of Don is quite comical as we worked on the fire rehabilitation project on the Slokum burn. My second and most cherished memory is his love for children, demonstrated in his every moment on this earth.  What a legacy he leaves behind. On behalf of my family, I would like to extend our greatest sympathies to you John, Ross, Dawna Sue, Betty, and your respective extended family. He is gone, but not forgotten. May God bless and comfort you in this trying time.
