Nadine Lissman was born on April 14, 1933 in Almena Kansas to Alva Earl Hines and Sylvia Verneitta Bell.  She moved from Kansas to Gooding, Idaho where her family survived a rare Tornado that lifted their home from the foundation.  Her dad ended up with a broken back after it picked him up.  They lost their home but the rest of the family was safe.  From Gooding, Idaho they moved to a farm between Ontario and Nyssa, where she attended high school in Ontario.  She married Raymond Russell Lissman then moved several times before moving to Seneca for 14 years, where they had 6 children.  They then moved to Canyon City, Oregon to let the 5 children attend high school without riding the bus 26 miles one way to school.  When the logging declined it was on to Burns where the last child graduated from Burns.  She worked for the Harney County Senior Citizen Center and then opened an Adult Foster Care Home to take care of her mother and then on to taking care of many other cherished people.  Her family was the most important thing in her life.
She is survived by Raymond Russell Lissman; her children Nila McPhetridge Burns, Oregon; Dan Lissman Ontario, Oregon; Carolyn Gubser (Bill) Condon, Oregon; Darlene Needham (Jerry) Burns, Oregon; Sylvia Wilcox (Jerry) Vale, Oregon; three generations of grandchildren, and a large extended family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva & Sylvia Hines, brother, Oliver Hines and her youngest son, Kris Earl Lissman on November 11, 2012.

You have my deepest sympathy during this time of sorrow. The loss of a loved one is painful. I'd like to share scripture that may bring comfort.

Isa. 55:11 promises us...So my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without result. But it will certainly do that in which I have delighted and it will have certain success in that in which I have sent it.

Ps. 116:14 lets us know...Precious in the eyes of Jehovah is the death of his loyal ones.

1Cor. 15:42 also lets us know...So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is sown in dishonor, it is raised up in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised up in power.

Isa. 25:8 also promises us...He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces.

I sincerely want these scriptures to bring hope and help your family endure.

Dear Lissman Famiy, I am a graduate of OHS in 1951 and know Nadine from thence. I am investigating for our next class reunion in 2016 and we are all confused as the only picture we can find of Nadine is as a sophomore, not junior or senior. Did she marry very young? I/we would appreciate any information you can give us as we want to dwell on her story. My cell is 971-237-0940 and will await anything you can tell us.
